Vita's custom made high-fidelity drive units and electronics with 3D sound processing provide a scale and quality of sound that belies the R2i’s compact dimensions. R2i also has other quality features that have been carefully considered. Vita's new high contrast display with large format clock makes time reading clearly legible even from afar. On the front panel a headphone socket along with a line input allows headphones and other audio devices to be easily connected. Usefully the volume of the headphones output is ‘remembered’ independently from the main volume, so whenever headphones are inserted the volume reverts to the users last selected level. On the rear panel they've provided two pairs of high quality gold-plated phono sockets. The first provides output for recording or hook-up to secondary systems and the second provides an additional input for the permanent connection of a CD/MP3 player or TV/DVD. Completing R2i is a compact remote control that enables all key R2i and iPod functions to be set and operated from the comfort of a chair or bed.
